Project Management Support
Project Managers need help
 
As the number of projects grows the Trust’s Project Managers need help. We really need
Project Support person(s) to provide project administrative services to the Project Board,
Project Directors and Project Managers.
 
Administer the Project Board, chase attendees, reports and actions.
Administer the Project Board meetings, inc. notes & actions
Set up and maintain project files
Establish and maintain document control procedures
Establish and maintain version & configuration control procedures
Administer change control procedures
Collect, compile, and distribute project management reports, task lists and issues.
Assist Project Managers with reports & plans.
Assist Project Managers with the compilation of Issue and Risk analysis and register.
Maintain a central repository of best practice, standards (eg. H&S), lessons learnt from
other projects
Provide MS Office and project management tools support to Project Managers, where
requested.
Assist Project Managers with financial management of their projects

Events Sales Manager

The Trust attends a number of events such as Festivals and boat shows during the year. To ensurethat it gains maximum financial and membership advantage at each event the Trust is looking to appoint an Events Sales Manager.

The main tasks would be to:

Liaise with the Membership Secretary, Events Director and Merchandising Director to ensure that appropriate materials and personnel were at events where the Trust is exhibiting

Organise teams to act as 'Events Sales staff, encouraging membership applications and selling Trust items such as merchandise and raffle tickets

Provide briefing and advice to Trust personnel on duty at events

Engineering Co-Director

After many years, Mike Lee is standing down as Engineering Co- Director. We need a qualified,experienced and enthusiastic Civil Engineer, preferably (but not 100% necessarily) with Canal knowledge to take part in major projects that are now being planned or are coming on stream.

Maintenance Co-ordinator

As we restore more and more canal, so the task of maintaining it becomes more challenging and important. We need someone to fill the key role of setting the policy, identifying the resources we need, planning the tasks along the line, and recruiting the teams to do the work, in collaboration with local branches.

Volunteer Co-ordinator

The availability of volunteers from many sources is growing, and it is an area the Trust is keen to grow significantly. We need someone to develop our contacts with all the various agencies involved, make sure we have the right supervision in place, and plan and oversee the programme.

Property Lawyer

We are negotiating with landowners all along the line for leases and licences to work. Someone with experience in this area who could give us occasional advice would be very valuable, and save the Trust money on outside fees.
